English Wikipedia was founded in 2001. And two years later, Chinese Wikipedia was founded. <\/p>\n

At first the founder of Chinese Wikipedia faced several problems. One of them is that the wiki system didn’t support Chinese. But they solve the problem after their working at last. And the other problem is how to deal with traditional Chinese and simplified Chinese. Should Chinese Wikipedia be separated into two websites ( Traditional Chinese Wikipedia and Simplified Chinese Wikipedia), or even more websites( Mainland China Wikipedia, Taiwan Wikipedia and Hong Kong Wikipedia)? <\/p>\n

But the founder of Chinese Wikipedia believes that knowledge must be free. We may be separated by the strait, We may be separated by the politics, but knowledge must be shared, Chinese Wikipedia must be a place where people from China mainland, people from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore, Chinese people all over the world, and all the other people who speak Chinese share their knowledge.<\/strong> So they didn’t separate Chinese Wikipedia. <\/p>\n

However, because of this, people from China mainland haven’t been able to visit Chinese Wikipedia directly since the winter of 2004. I think it’s a pity to lose such a good website.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u8cbc\u4e0a2007\u7dad\u57fa\u8a08\u5283\u7684\u52df\u6350<\/a>\u8996\u983b\uff0c\u5f88\u611f\u52d5\u2014\u2014\u81f3\u5c11\u5c0d\u6211\u5011\u9019\u4e9b\u4e2d\u570b\u7684\u7528\u6236\u4f86\u8aaa\u662f\u9019\u6a23\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n
